Overview
Jen, the founder of Just Ask Jen NP, has dedicated her career to supporting and guiding parents through the challenges of raising children. With over 20 years of nursing experience and 10 years as a nurse practitioner (NP) focused in pediatrics, Jen’s deep commitment to helping families has been a driving force behind her work. Additionally, her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) adds another layer of expertise, particularly in infant and maternal health.
As a mother of three children, she understands the stress of parenthood, the mom-guilt, and the juggle that occurs when parents are out numbered.
By using her voice in this blog, the hope is to provide support and a one-stop resource for those nagging questions that always get forgotten when you are in the exam room with your child’s provider.
Education
Working as a registered nurse (RN) with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah since 2004, Jen decided to further her education and training by pursuing a Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2014 and became a family nurse practitioner, which allowed her to not only provide care but also to diagnose, treat, and manage chronic conditions for people of all ages, making her an even more invaluable resource for families.
She has been working with new families for the duration of her 20+ year nursing career and has a passion for helping new parents navigate the trenches without the guilt that comes with the territory.
